How to share your calendar from Outlook (desktop)
- Click “Share Calendar”:
- Choose your settings, then click “Send”:
- Or you could just rely on the campus default and have colleagues use the “scheduling assistant” in the “meeting request”,
- After adding participants
- their calendars can be seen – in timeline format, good for comparing availability of multiple meeting participants –after you click on ribbon item: “scheduling assistant”.
- In current OWA., “meeting request” and “scheduling assistant” look a bit different from/reduced (including permissions) compared to Outlook, as you can see here e.g..
How to fix a crash of the teacher station control panel
- Problem: control panel on the teacher station unresponsive (both hardware and software buttons). No AV and on/off switching.
- Cause: Octo switch in the AV cabinet crashed (it needs replacing).
- Resolution: Open the door to the AV cabinet and powercycle the switch (= unplug and replug the lower thin black cable in the 1st or top rightmost thin black cable in the 2nd photo). Or use the call button (still functional) and wait for help.

Moodle 1 into Moodle 2 course restore fails with error “unsupported subplugin” or “unknown resource successor” or “parameter (contextid) was missing
-
I could not get the course to convert, until I deleted everything but the fora , and not even my rss blocks converted with urls – if this helps somebody, I describe the steps I took here:
-
upconclicking on more info: error/moodle/unsupported subplugin From MoodleDocs
-
The cause of this is likely due to an unsupported subplugin not being available in the version of Moodle you are using. If this error appeared during the restore of a Moodle course check the plugins within the backed up course against what is available in the Moodle you are restoring the course to. The Moodle you are restoring the course to is likely to be missing a plugin that is present in the backed up course. There is a tracker for this error to be a bit more graceful during course restore for Moodle version 2.x.x http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-29288 <http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/error/moodle/unsupported_subplugin>
- Do not include "Video Assignments" means not only video files, but also Kaltura streamed video.
- If I remove pretty much anything which was useful and retry backup/restore with these settings

- There seems no way for me to deselect Centra events, soi I sem to have to delete them from the original course (whee I would still have had a use for them).
- Did I see these linked file warnings before?

Error remains:
-
Now remove really all Saba Centra and Kaltura references.
-
Now we are removing everything except fora:
-
RSSs blocks were transferred, but without feeds.
-
In addition, you may see this error, when you get logged out and have to log in again after uploading the backup file:

How to view the full MS-Exchange resource booking details in scheduling assistant
- If you set resource mailbox calendar default permissions to “full details” like so:
- you will get the benefit of seeing immediately the contact info of other bookers of the resource in the scheduling assistant , like so:
- That is more personal and personable – in Outlook! In OWA of exchange 2010 sp2, you still do not, and you have to go through the full calendar (subscribed or published with full detail like in the view links here).
- Here is a little bonus for the recent commenter: You may have to trigger a refresh (wait time seemed bit enough). The information for the resources at the bottom I started seeing only after I switched back and forth between scheduling assistant/appointment/scheduling assistant view.

Sanako Study 1200 version 7 datetime format of file saves has changed
- The top items are samples from “before” (ver 5.2, XP), the bottom of “after”(ver 7, Windows 7):
. Somewhere in between (not sure when, we skipped Sanako Study 1200 version 6 and MS-Windows-Vista), the default file naming of Sanako has changed. - I found out that Sanako version 7 now uses settings from the Windows Regional settings. This seems to make sense, but likely should have been always the case (it breaks or rather forces me to extend my langlabemailer), and has some disadvantage.
- So if you want a different datetime format in the file names that Sanako creates when collecting student assessments and assignments, you need to change it in Windows Regional settings now.
Sanako Study 1200 classroom map can now scroll to fit on small screens
- We are now on Sanako Study 1200 ver 7.
- As you can see in this thumbnail view (note the vertical scrollbar on the right), it does help,
-
but not enough. Here is why:
-
I can get it to scroll only vertically.
-
I can only marginally move the student icons off the map when I use the GUI (ctrl-shift drag&drop). Wondering whether I have to dig into the XML source to force an even wider layout…
Workaround for Sanako study 1200 tutor v7 window limitations
- Problem: Window maximizes only to size of,and location defaults to, primary screen. This is now on windows7.
- Workaround: make the screen whose size you desire the primary (and live with the side effects).

- Downside:
- Screencast recordings of instruction won’t work: Community Clips can only record the primary screen, which is not the screen displayed to students during regular teaching. Windows Media Encoder does not work with our non-standard dual screen configuration on Windows7.
