Bugs in MS-Calendaranalytics?
2014/03/25

- Is there an Off-by-1 bug in MS-Calendaranalytics pivot chart?
- I am hovering (as an example) over the first name in the upper list which displays the right name as tooltip, the first name in the second list
- I guess I could learn DAX to fix this one myself, but what I have found myself doing is copy/paste the legend control from underneath, which does not exhibit this apparent bug, as a screenshot over the wrong legend (Seems strangely inadequate!).

First results with MS-Calendar Analytics for learning center management

- You can use the controls on the right to drill into the detail by selecting one or more
- Aliases,
- Attendees,
- Time periods
- Status.
- The graphs on the left and in the center will automatically reflect your selection on the right.
- These results lead to more questions. E.g. why is this tripod so popular?
-
Lesson learnt: Now it comes back to haunt us that we block broken or MIA equipment from users attempting to book it by making it look “busy” with an 24/7 “Appointment“. However, It should however be possible to filter out such appointments, versus “meeting requests”.
Collaborative timeline activity for face-to-face classes on history

- An easily produced and repeated classroom activity, originally developed for listening comprehension and speaking practice in language classes, based on filling out collaboratively a timeline spreadsheet in the digital audio lab:
- Listen and process/write:
- Advanced German class listens to segments of an authentic German cultural history documentary from the authentic German TV series “100 deutsche Jahre” (which follows a single topic throughout 20th century German history).
- And each student enters notable summaries of events with their time of occurrence into a spreadsheet
- that the teacher
- has at beginning of activity distributed to each individual student using the digital audio labs file management features
- and after listening collects from students, merges, either with student author data or an anonymous student identifier (for corrections), into an excel timeline spreadsheet
- and visualizes the collaborative outcome as an easily collated timeline on the projector to the entire class.
- Speaking: Discuss!
- Identify what are the gravity points for the comprehension of the video by the class: Why are these events deemed important?
- What are the outliers? Criticism? Justification?
- Also correct language errors in the student output.
